I honestly don't know where to begin. There's not enough time or words to describe how great of a place Luella stables is. Not only is this barn a fun, drama free, clean and safe environment, there's an amazing trainer and instructor there to run the farm! Nicole Cowan!! Man I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for her. She and her horses have been the reasons for my dreams coming true. She’s the reason I push to do better and has shown me tough love, hard work and dedication. I not only get the pleasure of riding and boarding 2 of my own horses there but I have the pleasure of working for her and taking lessons. There's not another trainer I would want to learn from. I have looked up to Nicole for many years. I admire the talent and knowledge she has. She never gives up on herself or her students. She pushes us to be the best we can. She's the one believing in us when no one else does. She has a lot of love and heart put into her training, teaching and care of the farm; it makes learning from her the best around! Thank you for all you do Nicole, we love you! Heather Stoppelbein

I am the President of the Collegiate Horseman's
Association at the University of Georgia which is an
agricultural club that caters to the education and hands
on experience of the equine industry to student with
interest in horses. We host a horse show every year in
April called the Bulldog Classic that raises money for
our philanthropy, The Georgia Equine Rescue League
(GERL).
I have taken official lessons from Nicole
Cowan for about two years and have been riding at Luella
Stable for about 7 years. Taking lessons with Nicole was
an amazing experience and I have all of my equine
knowledge form her. When I got my horse, Two Socks, he
was dehydrated and malnourished and I had no idea what
to do with him. I had some knowledge form all the books
I read but I received most of it from Nicole. From the
very beginning, Nicole helped my with my confidence in
riding and the knowledge, resources and references I
needed for the best care or my horse. I always had my
barn family at Luella Stables and even while I for
college, I was never left out of anything that went on
at the barn or with my horse who resides there and is
being well taken care of while I am away.
Nicole is
an amazing teacher who never pushes you over the edge.
She pushes you to be the best you can be and I am very
thankful for her guidance. Our family is a group of
amazing riders and we are growing with people and
horses. Since I don't take lessons anymore, when i come
back and visit, I always try to find a way to work with
Nicole and one of my favorites is working the trail
rides that our barn does. Working with Nicole is fun.
Not only did I teach others the lessons she has taught
me, I still learned things from her every time. I did a
few camps before I left for college and I was able to
teach and learn every day. There is always something to
be taught when it comes to horses and I enjoyed it.
Luella is a great place to board. Board is a great price
and there are different options that can be flexible for
any level of finance and time. Since I have been there,
I have had no complaints at all. It has trails, and nice
arena, and a lot of space to ride. It is a great place
for first time boarders. I loved it as soon as I brought
my horse. I have been there for 7 years and I am not
going anywhere.

Wow! What an amazing experience we have had so far. I would like to take this opportunity to write a letter of referral for Nicole Cowan and Luella Stables. My daughter has participated in three equestrian camps. She began taking lessons in February of 2014. We have boarded three horses at Luella Stables, as well. We currently have two amazing horses, which Nicole paired us with, boarding at Luella. My daughter ran her first barrel race only after taking lessons for six months. At her second race, she shaved 1.5 seconds off of her time. Nicole has instilled in my daughter a tremendous work ethic. She has modeled that anything worth doing is worth doing well. She has also inspired her that it is simply not an option to give up on an assigned task or a dream. Not only has she taught her to ride and wide well, but she has served as a role model to her. Prior to taking lessons, she lacked self-esteem and to be perfectly honest had a hard time always completing tasks that didn’t come “easy” to her. Nicole has worked with her not only on horsemanship, but on this as well, and her confidence has soared. Both Nicole and Gunner are amazing trainers. We can’t thank them enough!

Nicole is a wonderful trainer. She not only teachers amazing horsemanship skills, but she teaches dedication, discipline, and responsibility. Nicole teachers in detail and with passion. She genuinely cares about her students and what they are learning. Nicole also challenges her students, you will never have a boring or meaningless lesson. She will never let her students give up, she taught me how to follow through and never stop till you get it right! Nicole teachers you how to ride with your horse and not just on your horse, to listen to and respect your horse. Nicole has not only taught me how to ride but she taught me how to properly train a horse and that has become one of my biggest passions. Riding with Nicole is a fun and educating experience. Nicole and the horses bring out the best in people and gets even the shyest kids to open up. She makes riding a fun learning experience and children never want to leave. The barn is a judge mental free, peaceful place and everyone is just like family. Without Nicole I would not be the person I am today. She shows her passion and love for horses through her work and this really is a lifelong sport. Once you ride, you are hooked forever. After six years of working with Nicole, sadly I had to move away and after a year of looking for a trainer I still have not found one suitable. Nicole is a one of a kind friend and trainer and sets the standards extremely high.

Alex Hammock
Hey, my name is Alex Hammock. I have been at Luella Stables since 2008. I took lessons from Nicole from 2008-2009 until my parents bought my horse named Klassy. Nicole teaches you from the ground up including how to groom, feed, trailer and riding. She works hard to make sure the student is learning everything to the best of their ability while keeping the students and the horses safe. She will not put either in a position to be harmed. When riding she shows you many different styles of riding from trail riding through the woods to trailering to the national forest, barrel racing and other speed events and even some jumping. Over the past couple years I have had the opportunity to work alongside Nicole. I have worked several horse camps, taught lessons under her and the daily care of the horses. Even while working you are still learning new things every day. Working with her has taught me a whole new level of hard work and respect for what she does every day. As I am in college now, I have decided to leave Klassy with Nicole. I get updates on how she is doing with pictures and videos. I wouldn’t leave her with anybody else. I highly recommend Nicole and her entire Luella Stables team to anybody looking for a place to board and for lessons.

Danielle Henderson
Since the summer of 2014, I have been working and riding
with Nicole. I started riding when I was about 5years
old and I'm just now starting to get into barrel racing.
I have enjoyed every experience I have had with Nicole,
and because of Nicole not only have I become a better
rider but I have become a more confident rider as well.
I take lesson with her frequently and I also help out
with summer camps as well as Friday night trail rides.
The experiences I have had with Nicole and at the
stables have been life experiences that has shaped as a
person and as a rider. It’s cool to be around the horses
because not only do you get to help take care of them,
but you also get to know each one of their personalities
and build special bonds with them. I love being at the
stables and riding horses has always been a passion of
mine.
Sincerely,
Danielle Henderson
