Bam is a 6 year old bay mare owned by Christi and Jordan Tucker. Bam has been Jordan’s wonderful teacher and first horse. They are currently placing in NBHA district shows, their first state show and open shows in the 2D and 3D in both youth and open. They qualified to run Youth world their first year of barrel racing. Bam also does some Friday night trail trails. She is a laid back gal with a little sas and turns it on when it’s time to run barrels! She was purchase from Nicole’s dear friend Nicole Kearney, with very little pattern work and Jordan has taken her all the way to a very competitive barrel horse in one year. Both Nicoles are very proud of all Jordan has done in such a short time with her little tank.
Barbie is a 21 year old appendix mare also trained by Nicole Selman and her parents as a little girl. She was Nicole’s 3d barrel horse. She was once a 2D horse but has slowed up in her older age. Lora Lee and Sidney also won quite a bit barrel racing this big girl. She has also been in the family for 17 years. Barbie was the step up horse for students but she recently retired to live out her days as simply a pet.
Cloud is a 6 year old appaloosa gelding. He is owned by Michelle Maddox. She purchased Cloud as a 3 year old for her young granddaughter after many visits to our Friday night trail rides. Cloud is a favorite to many for lessons and trail rides. He is loved by his little girl too. He’s currently hauling to local jackpot barrel races. Emily Baumann, a student for 6 years, spent her summer in 2013 putting a beautiful handle on Cloud and starting him on the barrel pattern.
Dexter is a 24 year old grulla gelding trained by Nicole Selman and her parents when she was just a little girl. Dexter was Nicole’s very first horse. He has been in the family for 17 years. He is now claimed by Nicole’s 3 year old daughter, Payton. Previously, Dexter was Nicole’s son’s horse but was recently handed down to Payton. He has taught hundreds of children to ride and run barrels/poles. He is still teaching the young children and doing Friday night trail rides. This 14.2 gelding could easily clear 4 ft. jumps up to about 3 years ago! Horses loved by horse crazy little girls tend to have big hearts!
Diva is a 15 year old sorrel quarter horse mare. She is
Nicole’s 1D barrel horse and is jockeyed by Nicole and
occasional a very advanced student. She’s had a long
history of owners and has found her home to stay. She’s
a mess to get in the arena but she can lay down a run.
They say dynamite comes in small packages. Diva’s a
little mare with a lot of fire and grit!
Dually is a 10 year old bay gelding owned by Emma Piper. Dually was purchased recently from Nicole’s mother, Jennifer McInvale. Emma has brought Dually a long was in one year; she is currently placing in the top 5 of most barrel races she attends!
Friday is a 7 year old appaloosa gelding owned by Nicole Selman and claimed by Nicole’s 5 year old son, Chase. Friday was born at a previous student, Sidney Southerland’s, grandmother’s farm and moved to Georgia three years ago. Sidney started Friday on barrels. He is currently the younger and the adult student’s favorite lesson horse and also does Friday night trail rides. He’s quite a character and a nice laid back ride.
Dually is a 10 year old bay gelding owned by Emma Piper. Dually was purchased recently from Nicole’s mother, Jennifer McInvale. He is a wonderful first horse for Emma. Emma is just learning his way around barrels and uses Dually to do some guided trail rides on Friday nights..
Friday is a 6 year old appaloosa gelding owned by Sidney Southerland. Friday was born at Sidney’s grandmother’s farm and moved to Georgia two years ago. Sidney started Friday on barrels. Stormy is a 3 year old sister of Magic. She is absolutely beautiful, incredibly sassy and gritty, super smart and athletic! Stormy is owned by Christi Tucker and under full training of Nicole Selman. Nicole and Christi are partners in Stormy’s career to be the first futurity horse from Luella Stables. Stormy begins competing her 4 year old year the December 2016. Stay tuned for big things from this precious angel that reminds us of the great Magic watching over us from heaven.
Kitty is a 7 year old chestnut quarter horse mare owned by Savannah Webb. Kitty is currently on rest and will rehab after some ligament tears in her front left leg. Savannah qualified on Kitty to NBHA Youth World her first year of running. They were placing in the 2D and 3D in youth and open barrel races. Kitty was a bit stubborn with some flaws when Savannah purchased her but has come so far with the dedication and patience of her owner. Praying for Kitty to have a full recovery fast!
Magic is flying high with some of our other family pets. She’s missed and remembered by so many. Magic passed as a 9 year old dun paint mare owned by Christi Tucker. She was once owned and broke by Nicole Selman. Magic is a major sweetie and very loved by so many at the farm. Magic is also participated in Friday night trail rides and boy was she smooth to ride
Major is an 11 year old sorrel saddle bred/quarter horse gelding also owned by Brian Jones. Major has had around 30 days of starting and handling by Nicole Selman. He participates in Friday night trail rides. He’s Katelyn Jones’, one of our trail ride helpers, favorite pick to ride!
Molly is a seven year old small quarter horse mare owned by Heather Stoppelbein. Heather is now Luella Stables’ assistant instructor and barn helper. Molly has 30 days of handling and has been started on the barrels by Nicole Selman. Heather is currently learning hauling and seasoning Molly! This mare is little but fast and quick in her turns; she’s placing in the 3d. Molly is also laid back enough to participate in our Friday trail rides for even small children.
Neon is a 9 year old black Tennessee walker owned by Karl Sauerbrey. She was once boarded at the farm as a four year old when Nicole Selman broke and trained her. Her previous owner opted to sell her when his grandchildren lost interest. Karl snatched her up with no hesitation. Neon is a wonderful teacher to the beginner students and a smooth ride for our adult trail riders. She has certainly stolen Karl’s heart as well.
Smooth is a 9 year old black quarter horse gelding owned by Bryan Jones. Smooth has been boarded at the farm for 5 years. He’s had about 30 days of starting and handling by Nicole Selman. He participates in trail rides and some camps. He’s just an easy going guy. He’s loved by many. Savannah Web, one of you favorite trail leaders and barn girls, is currently spending time with Smooth to barrel race.
Sky is a 12 year old beautiful quarter horse mare broke and trained by Nicole Selman. She is Nicole’s 2D (1D on a great day) barrel horse. Sky is Mama’s girl. Her previous owner stated that after a horrible accident in the fence she tore her forearm up pretty bad and the vet said she would never trot. Sky was purchased just to be a trail horse but stole Nicole’s heart proving her amazing heart and grit to run and turn. She’s a super sweet girl. Sky has been used as a trail guide horse two seasons.
Gemini is an 11 year old dun gelding owned by Christi Tucker. He is loved by so many. Desirae Dixon is currently seasoning Gemini at barrel races and grateful for all the tuning and help by her friend Savannah Webb. Gemini is a large very sweet and enjoyable ride with lots of personality!
Two Socks is a 26 year old appaloosa gelding owned by Nicole Selman and previously owned by Kalila Clarke. Kalila is interning at church hill downs after 4 years at UGA so she gave Two Socks to Nicole. Two Socks has been at Luella Stables for about 7 years. He teaches lessons, camps and participates in Friday trail rides. He’s just amazing! Two Socks is currently hauling to local jackpot barrel races and NBHA GA 05 shows by his leaser, Maggie Hamrick. Two Sock also had around 30 days of handling by Nicole Selman when he first moved to the farm.
Gravedigger is a 12 year old bay gelding. He is registered, trail rides and started on barrels and poles. He is for sale! Stay tuned for the progress of his training, more details and price. Gravedigger is currently being rode my Malerie Mckee, Heather Stoplebien, and Nicole Selman.
Honey is owned by Malerie Mckee. She is a short but stout beautiful roan mare who loves to turn and burn! Honey was started and finished with Nicole’s help but mounted by Malerie. She had a long break but is back at the farm and well on her way to winning those checks at the NBHA Ga 05 shows, open show, super shows and state show!
Senorita is owned by Suzanne Dillard. She is a cute and small black Arabian mare. Suzanne enjoys her visits to feed, groom and mainly bareback ride Senorita several days a week if not every day. She sticks to her own in the pasture and has tons of personality!
Gracie is owned by Olivia Brown. Gracie was purchased from Nicole’s friend, Nicole Kearney, about half a year ago. She is an 11 year old, grey mare. She’s incredibly sweet, a wonderful ride and loved so much by her family.
Jameson is a 5 year old bay gelding. He is possibly a cross between a walker and a quarter horse. Bobbi Jo and Shane Werner saved him from a feed lot in April of 2016. Bobbi is getting him healthy and used to a loving touch. Stay tuned for his progress and the adventures of a first time horse owner training a 5 year old wild horse!
Cas, Hemi, and Penney
All three are owned by Tiffany Imbt. Tiffany rescued Cas and Penney one year ago in May. She rehabbed them and made them beautiful healthy horses. Cas and Hemi are both in training under Nicole Selman to being barrel horses. Tiffany is currently learning to barrel race and has started hauling and seasoning these two. Penney is a small black horse she is working slowly with and will soon start barrel training under Nicole too.
Kahlisa is a white Arabian mare rescued by Kevin and Tiffany as well. She has a broken tail but seems to be fully recovered. Keven enjoy learning to ride on his spunky little mare. Both horse and rider will soon start training under Nicole Selman
Holly is an 8 year old paint mare owned by one of our henry county teaches, Carrie Barber. She has been ridden English and western and most enjoys her owner coming to groom, love and ride her. Holly is full of personality!ACAC
Piper is an 11 year old palomino mare owned by Ansley Taylor. This is Ansley’s first horse. Nicole Selman previously owned her after purchasing from Nicole Kearney. Ansley and Piper started their first year of barrel racing in the NBHA Ga 05 district. Piper does trail rides and teaches other students as well. She’s so sweet and smooth to ride.
Myles is an 11 year old paint gelding owned by Morgan Taylor. This is Morgan’s first horse and was purchased from Nicole Kearney a year ago. They have started their first year of barrel racing in the NBHA Ga 05 district. Myles is a sweet laid back guy and will hit another gear running barrels. He is a great trail horse for all ages at Friday night trail rides
Jolie is owned by Mrs. Joanne. She had lost some weight at her previous home and was moved to Luella six months ago. The owner and Nicole are currently working together in bringing Jolie back to a healthy weight. She was rescued many many years ago by Joanne and has been in the family a long while. She is very laid back, doesn’t ride but loves to be groomed and loved by anyone at Luella. Her favorite little girl is Taylor Blain. Taylor loves to brush her long thick mane and tail and spoil her with apple treat every chance she can
April has been owned by Kayleigh Carder for 2 years. April is an 11 year old chestnut paint mare. She is currently seasoning April at the NBHA Ga 05 barrel races, open shows, state shows and super shows. April was started by Nicole Selman. She has a BIG motor and a lot of work. Look out when these two get it together as April is a big step up from Kayleigh’s first horse. April is very loved and especially loved by Nicole’s 3 year old daughter, Payton. Kayleigh so graciously shared April with Payton for lead line barrel racing at shows. Thanks Kay Kay!.
